Article Processing Charges (APC)
APC
The Journal of AI-Integrated Medical Sciences (JAIMS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal. To support the editorial assessment, peer-review, manuscript processing, copyediting, typesetting, digital publication, DOI registration, metadata management, long-term preservation, website infrastructure, and other essential publishing services associated with open-access scholarly communication, JAIMS applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to manuscripts accepted for publication. For manuscripts accepted during the 2026–2027 effective period, the standard Article Processing Charge is US$50 per accepted article.
APC Payment
The APC is payable only after a manuscript has successfully completed the journal's editorial and peer-review process and has received a formal acceptance decision. Authors are not required to pay an APC for manuscript submission, initial editorial assessment, or peer review. Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance, influence the editorial decision, affect reviewer recommendations, or provide any priority in the scientific evaluation or publication process. Payment instructions will be provided to the corresponding author through the journal's official publishing process following acceptance.
Submission and Additional Charges
JAIMS does not charge authors a submission fee, editorial screening fee, or peer-review fee. The standard APC of US$50 represents the mandatory publication charge for an accepted article during the 2026–2027 effective period. No undisclosed publication, processing, submission, page, colour, or mandatory supplementary charges will be imposed on authors. Any charge that may become applicable under a separately published publishing service or exceptional circumstance will be clearly disclosed before it becomes applicable.
Transparency of Publication Charges
JAIMS is committed to transparent disclosure of all mandatory publication charges. The applicable APC, currency, and relevant payment conditions are clearly stated on the journal website and are available to authors before submission. Authors are encouraged to review the current APC information before submitting a manuscript so that the financial terms associated with publication are understood in advance. The APC is applied consistently in accordance with the journal's published conditions and is not used as a criterion for determining the scientific merit or suitability of a manuscript.
APC and Editorial Independence
Financial considerations are kept separate from editorial decision-making. Manuscripts are evaluated according to their scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical integrity, clinical or healthcare relevance, reporting quality, and overall scholarly contribution. The ability or willingness of an author to pay an APC does not influence the outcome of peer review or the editorial decision. Editors and reviewers are expected to maintain appropriate independence from financial considerations throughout the assessment and publication process.
APC Waivers and Discounts
JAIMS may provide full or partial APC waivers or discounts where the journal has established an applicable waiver or discount arrangement. Such arrangements may be considered according to objectively defined eligibility criteria and are administered independently of editorial assessment and peer review. The availability of a waiver or discount does not influence manuscript acceptance, reviewer selection, or editorial decisions. Where a specific waiver or discount programme is offered, its eligibility requirements and applicable conditions will be communicated transparently to authors.
Changes to the APC
JAIMS reserves the right to revise its Article Processing Charge in response to changes in publishing costs, editorial and production requirements, digital infrastructure, preservation services, DOI and metadata services, or other legitimate operational requirements. Any revision to the APC will be publicly disclosed on the journal website before it becomes applicable to newly submitted manuscripts. The journal will not introduce undisclosed charges or apply a revised APC retrospectively to manuscripts already accepted for publication under a previously stated APC schedule.
Effective Period
The APC stated on this page is effective for manuscripts accepted for publication during 2026–2027. The standard APC for this period is US$50 per accepted article. Authors should consult the journal's official APC information before submission to confirm the applicable charges and conditions. Any subsequent APC schedule or change in publication charges will be clearly published before its effective date.
Transparent Charges. Independent Review. Open Access.
JAIMS is committed to transparent and responsible open-access publishing. The APC supports the sustainable publication of peer-reviewed medical research while remaining separate from editorial decision-making. The journal's publication charges, effective periods, and applicable conditions are made publicly available so that authors can make informed decisions before submission.
